How options prop firms differ
Options prop firms are newer and fewer than futures or forex firms. The ones we track give you their own web platform instead of a retail broker terminal. That matters for automation: with no API and no connection to TradingView, a bot has nothing to plug into, so every order is placed by hand. The two firms with a clear written rule both say this outright.
Their risk rules look like futures rules: a trailing drawdown, a set number of winning days before a payout, and caps on each withdrawal. What differs is the product. Options lose value over time and react sharply to volatility, so a drawdown limit can be hit faster than the same limit on futures.
We check each firm's own FAQ and rules pages and record the date. Where a firm has no written bot rule, we rate it Unclear rather than guess. If you know of an options prop firm we are missing, tell us.
